Polyes 85

Description and Uses

Polyes 85 is a third-generation superplasticizer (polycarboxylate copolymer) for concrete and mortars. It meets the requirements for Type F concrete admixtures (High-range water reducer) in accordance with ASTM C 494.

Polyes 85 is a high-performance water reducer that can be applied to tall-feed and large-scale construction projects requiring high-strength and high-fluidity concrete.

• General-resistance concrete manufacturing: % Binder weight: 0.3–1.0
• High-strength and high-fluidity concrete manufacturing: % Binder weight: 0.4–2.0
• Anti-foaming agent / Optimal dosage generally: 0.07–0.15%
• 50% solids base content: 0.2–0.3%
• Determine a target dosage depending on mix design conditions, materials used, temperatures, and mixer types.

Precautions

Overdose side effects: determine a target dosage based on the concrete mix design. Overdosing may cause segregation of concrete materials, and therefore strength may be significantly below the target value.

Storage temperature: Polyes 85 must be stored at temperatures above 32°F (0°C) to prevent freezing, and below 104°F (40°C) to prevent quality changes.

Handling: POLYES 85 does not contain an anti-foaming agent; if anti-foaming is required, it must be added separately. No special requirements during use, although wearing gloves and protective eyewear is recommended. POLYES 85 is non-flammable, non-toxic, and non-irritating, and therefore is not subject to special transport requirements.

Shelf life: POLYES 85 has a minimum shelf life of 1 year. Depending on storage conditions, the shelf life may be longer than indicated. It should be stored away from direct sunlight and protected from extreme temperatures.

• Do not mix with other chemical admixtures.
• If the product freezes, heat below 86°F (30°C) and mix thoroughly.
• Consult with our technical service engineer if entrained air needs adjustment, or if stored for an extended period before use.
• Do not use for purposes other than the manufacture of concrete as chemical admixtures.
• Wash with sufficient running water if contact with skin or clothing occurs.
• Request the full material safety data sheet if needed.
